Went to a comedy night and a concert on Saturday...Approx 1000 people there...Big event in small Lofoten. Åge Alexandersen is the artist's name...Full on fun!

Didn't take any cool pix from the concert as I had reached a stage of drunkeness you don't want to hear about HAHA....Good fun tho..

So that's the latest update...Going over to the neighbouring town of Svolvær tomorrow - It's an hour away..Two day meeting. Regional something something. But staying in Hotel. Which is always exciting as I don't do that very often...Lovely!

Not Winter!!!!

Ello everyone!

Okay so the dark ages has reached our county. It s 2 pm in the arvo and outside it s already pitch black...Doesn t really help that there is not even a hint of snow outside...So we re all stumbling around up here running into eachother seeing aproxx. f...all.

So yeah. You can imagine how it is not seeing the sun for a coupla months. Luckily I ve been able to adapt to it from day to day, step by step...However I reckon that if I d just arrived up here from somewhere else (south of this island), I d be sleeping A LOT. The problem is that in theory...U dont know if it s 3 pm or 3 am...

I was born here, and yes, granted, Ive been away for 6 yrs give or take...But it never seizes to amaze me this dramatic scenery and the northern lights and the midnight sun...yeah and like now, the opposite of the friggin midnight sun.

So I have a little plan. If I ll live to see it, i dunno know...But here goes...As you (my devoted fans ; )) know...I ve actually had 5 jobs in the fab year of 06. Now. The two temp jobs I m working at mo, are engagements until Dec 31. Next year, january, Ill get my saved up "holiday-cash" - Now in Norway 12.1% of all you earn in a whole year is paid out in june of next year. After having had 5 jobs, I might be gettin some cash....hihiiii. So if I m unemployed, I ll be taking off to OZ for a month or 2 i reckon. It would definitely be the coolest thing in the world to do so. DON'T YA THINK? If I don t have a job I get my Holiday Cash paid out in JAN07. It wouldn t be the stupidest of things to just buzz off to OZ for a month in this time..Would it? oh the dark ages. They are tough.

In the mean time...things are lookin up for Xmas. Can't wait to the holidays and the festivities. There are so many happenings to attend before the 24th...I'll prob put on like 5 kgs! SHITE : o S

For you fellow Norwedegians...Have a look at the site that I'm actually webmastering at mo (can you say webmastering???) www.lofotradet.no Check it out nthat.

Oh...And it'll be awesome seeing all of youse for xmas!!!

XOXOXOX - Lone*

Winter!!!!!

HO HO HO!

Total christmas spirit oh so early up here above the arctic circle!

It is getting darker and darker and very soon the sun will not be in sight for a whole month...

ITS GREEET!

So it started snowing over the w/e and I love it. Especially cos of all the light it gives off considering how dark everything is becoming.

I just need a horse and a sleigh and some bells and I ll be santa!!! (except for the beerbelly and beard....and gifts and the outfit...)

Here s a link to see different webcameras around Lofoten:

http://www.lofotposten.no/webkamera/

The really ugly pic (the one called Leknes) is my home town. The red building on the left is one of the places I work at....

So now u know this!

QUICK UPDATE ON LIFE!!

Just a quickie to let you all know I am still alive, and...Yes Kickin!

I have received a couple of feedbacks on me not updating my blog of late...And that is truly coz i thought nobody read it.. But now I know there is at least three (me included) that bothers to read it and it means ALOT!

Anyways...

Life in Lofoten is pretty good I reckon. I am now working at the Lofoten regional council which is a killer of a job...I totally luuurve it!!! So many new experiences and challenges to work through, me very happy!

I have two jobs, theyre both 50% each...The second job is at one unit in the local council. They take care of all the properties of the council and I help administrate this. My coworkers are really busy people, therefore it is hard to get a hold of the right person at the right time. They are definitely not taking care of me and training me, so I am basically an unused resource. I am shocked as to what expectations they have of me, cos they are low. I guess there is a tad bit less challenges around this joint (i m here now)....Ah well, I ll get more and more into i...But in the meantime I am bored.

Other than that? I was "parallel dating" there for a while. That was fun, but then it started getting a bit sketchy, as I started to get serious with both guys...And also, this place is TINY and very see-through. So I ve hit the breaks on both guys and just leaned back for a while to see what happens. I guess they re both sweet dudes, but I cant say my heart is really in it if ya know what I m saying...

My handball-girls (9-10year olds - 20 of them) are having their first tournament of the season this weekend. I am very excited for them as they have alot more rules and regulations to take into consideration when playing games this year as opposed to last year..

And we are publishing a cd-single to raise money for "Doctors without boarders"....It s been some up and downs, but we reckon well get our goal in the end! Its a very nice song and I hope people will buy it and enjoy it...My role in the whole thing has been as a promotor....OooOh how exctiment!

I ll be back with more soon

Until then.....xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

The following is supposedly an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term. The answer by one student was so "profound" that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well.

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gascools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different Religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities:
1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enterHell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.
2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls inHell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "it will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you, and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number 2 must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct...leaving only Heaven thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A"

New Entry

Ello ma peoples.

6 days to go. And then.....Oslo...Croatia....It's gonna be soo cool. Goddangg.
We've found this amazing villa in a fishing village just outside of Dubrovnik that seems pretty laidback and cool. It has a view towards the Adriatic sea, and it seems peaceful and nice. And it's damn cheap 2. So I will definitely just relax and not think about anything else but having fun with my girlfriend and see the sights and stuff like that. S gonna be good i reckon.....

After a whole summer, not counting the few days of sun last week, has been rainy, and even dark here in the land of the midnight sun....Greyish definitely.....

So me can't wait till that flight takes off with me and Linda. Ah well.... Still some days of work before I take off from this wretched island.

But now! Dreamland! Yey!

He Had A Knife

I work at the council

It's a big building with shitloads of administration and local politicians.

We also house the social services. Therefore, we get a shitload of wacky people. All the originals/Alcoholics/Druggies of this small island. Now today I was scared. Real scared.

There has been incidents where I've seen people refusing to leave the premises because they're desperate, and the police having to come and force them to leave...But this guy was scary...

OKAY, so now we are a bit curious right? Ill tell ya:
I just came back after buying my lunch and was stood outside the council building chatting with a janitor I know. After a while I registered this guy that was wandering around the grass and the parkinglot. Looking quite confused and angry and pretty messed up on drugs. Now he was carrying a knife in one of those "knife holding pockets" (sorry bad language day). He was kicking and behaving in quite an agressive way, when he started to wander towards me. That's to be honest, one of the scariest things I've ever experienced. I tried to keep calm as he was passing me by. And ran into the building to warn social services that he was coming.

Got me thinking tho. You know, you have to be quite the desperate type or pretty messed up in your head to be wandering around like that, and also to be able to threaten someone with a knife. I don't understand why, in this rich country that Norway is, that we have a well-developed system that catches these poor people before it's too late, and some innocent party has to get hurt.

Ah so there you are. That's a bit of food for thought before we welcome the weekend and the nice weather. I'm'a gonna be so tanned people will think I'm hispanic (or maybe just a pig....A pink one....With blonde hair and blue eyes...hehe...AW WHO CARES, Pink is the New Tan I say!!)

A message from God

I received an SMS from God the other day: "Due to work on clouds in the Lofoten area, some rays of sun might have occured. We sincerely apologize for this incident, and promise it will not happen again."

Now I think God has left us.

The skies have been blue for a whole three days...The balance between good and evil has vanished and the devil has taken over the world!!!! I am feeling more and more evil by the minute....mmmmMMMUUUHAHAHaaaaa....Oh God, don't leave us, come back!!! Let's all pray, any sign will do, even rain!!! I don't need to go in shorts, I don't need to eat ice-cream, just as long as you come back God. I don't want to be evil!!!

....But you could still wait a couple of days tho.... ; )

Hungry and Stressed! (the usual combo)

OKAY!
So I need to get my arse up at the church to rehearse singing the song for my sister's wedding...Get the dress ready for use and fix the clotheswasher...And...I'm blank, totally blank.

Tomorrow's my sister's wedding. I've come to the point where I wish the whole thing was over and done with. All my brothers and sisters (5 of them) and uncles and aunties and grannies and what have you are in town and there is so much going on my head is spinning...

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining - I'm just a tad bit confused you know. I've obviously adapted well to small-town life again and I s'pose that's good. Just takes a while before I catch up with it all.

Ah well, tomorrow I get to be singstar and princess in my custom-made dress partying with the larger part of my family, not to mention my brother in law - Whose family is quite the lively bunch. Let's make the best of it and hope the weather-gods are on our side....For once!!!!

sO hERE gOES!!!!!!!!!

Hello ma peoples!

Decided since I've got so many international maties, my Blog will be in English. Don't matta coz us Norwedegians rock in da English language skill we have (??? Right???).

Anyways.

Sat at work now. Trying to kill time as I have to have some overtime to get some time off to spend some time (??? Right???) helping sis out for her big wedding this W/E. 'S gonna be awesoammeee! Had a dress custom made xcept is not made yet. Pretty stressed out about that. Also I am waiting for all the employees at the City of Vestvågøy to turn in, so I can run amuck with the copier to make song-"pamphlets" to be used at wedding mmmmuhahahaha.

Only 3 hours to go yey!

Now don't u believe that I'm a slack ass. There are so many different factors to be taken into consideration:
1. I am a temp
2. My work capacity overgoes the others here by approx 100% (it's a building filled with fellow procrastinators)
3. Still a temp
4. It's summer, and everyone (it's more or less a house of ghosts) has gone away on holidays, and nobody calls me with cases or ANYTHING. I HAVE NOTHING TO DO. I am basically here to hold up the fort while me bosses are gone....aoohh the Powaaaa mmmmuhahahahahhh
5. Also, I am a temp

So that's what's on at this point in time of this, my totally happening life. I'll definitely be back, blogging's pretty cool shite.

Youse guys have fun in the mean-time..
